Join us for this one-day Kingfisher Bushcraft Creative Campcraft Fundamentals Workshop at Kingfisher Bridge Nature Reserve.
Geoff Preen and friends will guide you to learn a variety of bushcraft skills in a woodland setting.
The workshop will run 10.30am to 3pm following COVID-secure guidelines.
Please bring enough food and drink for the whole day.
In this 4.5 hour workshop you'll learn how to effectively create your own natural tools from your natural surroundings which are useful when setting up basecamp. This isn't a
'how to' survive off the land course, but a 'how to' on establishing synergy with nature to maximise your comfort, confidence and efficiency whilst at basecamp with basic modern tools.
The tools you'll fashion on this course are heavily biased towards outdoor cooking. Let's face it, we all enjoy a good meal around the campfire and it's essential for our health
and wellbeing. However the practicalities of carrying in big and bulky (and sometime costly) cooking equipment for many, isn't feasible and the cons as such outweigh the benefits. Therefore one may
argue that taking just a few essential pieces of kit and having the knowledge and being skilled on how to create your own tools is indeed, a way to carry less. Best of all, these tools will last a
good while if used correctly, and many of the skills you'll learn are adaptable for multiple applications too which we shall cover. Nearing the end of our session you'll also have the opportunity to
use your freshly fashioned equipment to prepare a simple snack over a fire before setting off home with your wares. Expect to craft yourself a mallet, spatula, pot-hanger, tongs and a
This course is intended for those over 14 yrs (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult) who have already attended one of our Bushcraft Basics Workshops. We do this so that we
know you have a basic understanding and a sense of familiarity of the tools we'll be using, although we will recap on tool use and safety throughout the day.
Please do bring a packed lunch and refreshments and dress accordingly for the weather. Beverages will be available throughout the day. All tools required for the day are
provided by us but feel free to bring your own if you wish (however we're not responsible for any damages). If you have any dietary requirements please contact us via pm before booking.

Lime Wood where we are hosting our courses.
